APM Terminals Pipavav, the manager and operator and a controlling shareholder of Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd (GPPL), completed 500 days of safe operations with zero fatality and lost time incidents (LTI) on May 08.
Being a multipurpose port, handling different types of cargo, this achievement has come as a new milestone in safety for APM Terminals Pipavav.
Constant care, continuous training, monitoring and supervision of operations at all levels by the management has been an important driving force behind the tremendous success, besides the committed employees who embraced safety in their day- to-day operations at work to accomplish such a feat.
“This landmark is a testament to the safety culture we have established at APM Terminals Pipavav. The management and the employees strongly believe in safe operations,” APM Terminals Pipavav Managing Director Jakob Friis Sorenson expressed.
During the ongoing lockdown period, the training imparted to the staff has come in handy and the port continues to function 24×7 ensuring safe and smooth operations.
