E-commerce major, Flipkart is all geared to set up its largest fulfilment centre on Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation’s (HSIIDC) 140-acre land in Gurgaon-Manesar region.
In view of the increasing demand of warehousing from e-commerce companies, HSIIDC has set up a warehousing hub over an area of 285-acre in Patli Hazipur, Manesar. Subsequently, the executive empowered committee has approved the land allotment to Flipkart for setting up the facility at a cost of Rs 432 crore (Rs 3.09 crore per acre).
Over the next three to five years, Flipkart will be setting up a logistics park spanning 3 million square feet floor area in the said land parcel which has the potential of a total built-up area of 5 million square feet and shall be developed in two to three phases.
The first phase of the project is likely to be operational by 2022 at an anticipated cost of Rs 3,500 crore. It is expected to create employment for over 12,000 people in the state and boost the infrastructure for the sellers, MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, kiranas from the state and the region.

Flipkart already has 12 supply chain assets in Haryana, including supply chain infrastructure for large appliances, non-large (including mobiles, apparel), grocery and furniture. The company currently employs more than 10,000 people in Haryana across its supply chain and has created lakhs of indirect jobs in the state.
Flipkart in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation’s Logistics Skill Sector Council (LSC) is also providing training on the nuances of supply chain and delivery, to ensure skill development, career progression and growth for its employees.
