Kales Group GSSA has recently appointed Sebastiaan Scholte as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Scholte, who was previously CEO of road feeder company Jan de Rijk Logistics, takes over from Dirk Hazenoot who decided to step down after having worked for almost 20 years for the company.
Scholte was until 2019 Chairman of air cargo group TIACA and also had stints at Cargolux and AeroMexico.
Vikram Singh, Group Chief Executive of World Freight Company, which owns Kales Group said in a statement, “I want to thank Dirk for all his years of hard work and dedication, helping to grow Kales Group to become one of the leading GSSA’s in the world.”
“Sebastiaan will bring with him a wealth of relevant experience and expertise in the airline and logistics industry. We are happy to have him on board to lead the organisation successfully,” he added.
“I am excited to join Kales Group” Scholte stated. “GSSA’s play a crucial role in the air cargo supply chain and Kales Group is a very well-known reputable brand in the market. I am looking forward to working with the group’s airline partners and growing the business.”
Established by Peter Kales in 1994, Schiphol-headquartered Kales’s scope of activities has broadened over the years.
Today, the company has over 30 offices in more than 20 European countries, including Mumbai, Toronto, Quito and Bogota.
It represents more than 90 airlines, handling 250,000 tonnes of cargo and over 100,000 passenger tickets per annum. Besides acting as GSSA for air cargo, Kales Airline Services is also a GSSA for passengers and charters.
