Budget-carrier SpiceJet has transported approximately 16 tonnes of perishable items which include fresh fruits and vegetables from Kozhikode to Muscat on Wednesday, May 06.
The SpiceJet flight SG 7195 arrived at Muscat Airport today early morning.
SpiceJet has been continuing on its mission to transport fresh produce across India and abroad so as to help Indian farmers maintain continuity of their supply chains.
Till date, the carrier has ferried over 916 tonnes of perishable items, out of which 883 tonnes were on internatonal routes and 33 tonnes carried domestically.
SpiceJet has also carried over 1378 tonnes of live shrimp during the lockdown period.
On May 05, SpiceJet utilised its SpiceXpress freighter to uplift 10,438 kg of live shrimps.
SpiceJet has been operating dedicated SpiceXpress freighters that fly from Chennai and Vishakhapatnam to Surat and Kolkata so as to aid shrimp farmers during the coronavirus crisis.
