A B777-300ER cargo-only passenger flight of Alitalia Airlines uplifted record-breaking 53.375 tonnes of high-density cargo including pharma goods, auto spare parts, chemicals, garments, as well as courier and left for Fiumicino Airport in Rome from Mumbai.
Alitalia has been operating its weekly cargo only passenger flights from India since June 2020. Air Logistics Group (ALG), the carrier’s general services and sales agent (GSSA) in India is ensuring the steady transport of freight on Alitalia’s weekly flights from both Delhi and Mumbai that connects Italy/Europe, North America as well as North Africa.
Sakshi Gupta, country manager, Air Logistics Group said, “Alitalia enters the book of records once again with a consecutive birdie in a row, uplifting yet another milestone figure of 53 tonnes on its BOM-FCO route which comes just a day after the successful flight ex DEL which ferried 54 tonnes to Rome.”
Alitalia has been expanding its cargo capacity to transport vital supplies across the globe and looks forward to increasing the import and export trade between Italy and India in times ahead.
