Praveen Sashi, Senior Director of IT & Logistics UAE and Regional Head of Digitalisation at DHL Express has been ranked first in the logistics industry and sixth in the region on the CIO Middle East top 50 list, says release.
The CIO50 Middle East awards ceremony was held virtually in February 2021 as part of this year’s IDC Middle East CIO Summit, where a large number of nominees from across industries and the region were narrowed down to 50 winners.
Nominees were evaluated based on three core pillars; innovation, leadership, and resiliency.
The CIO50 Middle East awards were launched to honor transformational, inspiring, and enduring IT Executives and their teams, who succeeded in spurring growth and introducing technological innovations across their organisation, especially in spite of the challenges and volatility brought upon by the pandemic during the past year.
Commenting on this occasion, Sashi said in a statement, “It’s an increasingly digital world, through technology, innovation, and resilience our IT superstars helped deliver excellence through many great stories that underscore outstanding teamwork, passion, and a can-do attitude. After all, technology is about enabling people more than anything else. So, it was a truly proud moment for our team’s effort to be recognised at the IDG CIO Middle East awards 2021.”
DHL’s Chief Information Officer – Mena, Charbel El-Achkar also stated, “It gives us great pleasure that Praveen Sashi has emerged among the top 50 technology leaders in the Middle East by CIO-IDG. This award is a great recognition of the outstanding team we have in Mena and reiterates our ongoing commitment to driving and enabling digitalisation in the region, as a leader in the logistics field. With the qualified professionals and advanced technologies at hand, we are certainly able to deliver our purpose of connecting people and improving lives in today’s digital world.”
