Latam Cargo recently said it will provide free capacity, dedicated to transporting transport COVID-19 vaccines, to domestic destinations in its network.
Through its Solidarity Plane programme, the carrier will transport COVID-19 vaccines when they become available, to destinations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
IATA CEIV Pharma-certified Latam Cargo added that since August, it has been planning the logistical aspects of vaccine transportation, taking into to consideration the the infrastructure and facilities at of each of the airports in its domestic network.
Roberto Alvo, Latam Airlines Group chief executive has said, “During this entire global health crisis, we have not spared efforts to collaborate with the communities of the countries where we serve through our Solidarity Plane program.”
“We are excited to announce that Latam’s domestic operations will be available to support the distribution totally for free, of vaccines according to what the authorities of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru may determine,” he added.
