The country’s largest airline, IndiGo operated its maiden long-haul charter flight to Moscow, Russia on September 25, 2020. The 6E flight from New Delhi to Moscow transported total of 14.4 tonnes of cargo which included medical supplies and other general commodities.

Owing to the first flight, Moscow was the 24th destination covered by IndiGo for its cargo charter network. IndiGo has operated cargo flights to multiple new destinations including, most recently Chittagong in Bangladesh, followed by Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, Cairo in Egypt, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, and Kathmandu in Nepal.

Within the last 5 months, IndiGo has also transported cargo equivalent to the loads carried in the last financial year, despite limited capacity.
