Emirates SkyCargo is said to have flown down more than 10m mangoes from Pakistan during this season and reportedly transported to various destinations on its network, amidst COVID-19 outbreak.

Mango is said to be the key exporter of the country and is particularly popular in Europe and North America. Fruits are key contributor to Pakistan’s economy.

Emirates SkyCargo said in a statement that it transports mangoes from Pakistan to markets in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Malaysia, Singapore and the UAE.

Faisal Yaqoob, Manager – Pakistan at Emirates SkyCargo said, “Pakistan is a major mango producer and we are pleased to offer our cargo services to Pakistani exporters even during these difficult times. Ensuring the highest levels of safety and expertise, Emirates SkyCargo continues to leverage its extensive network and innovative equipment to ensure mangoes and other produce retain freshness and are safely delivered to more than 110 cities around the world from Pakistan. We are glad to make an important contribution to the export industry of Pakistan as well as the country’s overall economy.”

Other exports from Pakistan via Emirates SkyCargo, include various perishable products like fish, meat, vegetables, etc. to markets in Europe and the Middle East.

Talking about imports into the country, it includes mostly essential medical supplies such as pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, face masks, and lab test kits.
