Leading Latin American carrier LATAM Cargo and global logistics giant DSV have reportedly collaborated to transport 110 RKN C-Safe containers, each containing pharmaceuticals/ medicines, from Amsterdam to Brasilia airport.

According to the reports, the temperature-controlled containers were flown on three Airbus A350 flights and needed to be kept at a temperature of 5ºC, while the interior temperature of the aircraft was maintained between 15ºC and 25ºC.

LATAM Cargo said in a statement, “In 2017 LATAM Cargo Group became the first airline in the Americas to receive the CEIV Pharma certification from IATA for its expertise and control in the transport of pharmaceuticals.”

In August, LATAM Cargo added a new route/destination to its freighter schedule.

The leading carrier now successfully operates a weekly service from Miami, US, to Florianopolis in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, using a Boeing 767F aircraft with a 53-tonne capacity.
